This beautifully illustrated biography follows Jane Austen's life and work (which includes Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility and Emma) and celebrates the legacy of the much-loved literary icon. It also explores Austen's inspirations and influences, her domestic life and the society she lived in.
Do you know what gift Jane received from her father for her 19th birthday? OR which of her siblings was a talented poet? Jane Austen by Zena Alkayat and Nina Cosford is a fun and gorgeous book which answers everything you ever wanted to know about the Pride and Prejudice author.
Whether you are a Jane Austen aficionado or just someone who wants to know a little more about the famous author, this book is for you. Beautifully illustrated and full of interesting facts, this book tells the story of who Jane Austen was from her birth right through to the end of her life.
I loved the illustrations in this book. Almost every page features a small drawing or two to help divulge a little bit about the famous author. We get to see a little bit about each of Jane’s novels along with some context about where she was in her life when she wrote them.
This isn’t a long book with each page only having a few sentences or two yet I felt it gave just the right amount of information. Fans of Jane Austen will appreciate how beautifully presented this book. It is a gorgeous addition to anyone’s bookshelves. And those who don’t know all that much about her will enjoy learning more about her life and the times in which she lived. Perfect as a gift for the literature lover in your life, this book about Jane Austen was an absolutely pleasure to read
