Book Summaries in Haiku?

Haiku Book Summaries

I thought it might be fun to try to summarize 6 books I’ve read and reviewed recently in the form of a haiku. Three lines, seventeen syllables, and six summaries which (hopefully) make sense. Enjoy 🙂

The Minnow by Diana Sweeney

The Minnow

A girl sans family
Talks to fish, ghosts, Nan and
her unborn – The Minnow.

Spark by Rachael Craw

Spark

Altered DNA,
Ultimate warrior girl,
Failure means death…

The Dark World by Cara Lynn Schultz

The Dark World

Ghosts in the bathroom,
Demons in detention, Paige –
Key to the Dark World

Scarlett Fever by Maureen Johnson

Scarlett Fever

Work, Love, Siblings, School.
Never a boring moment,
Life in NYC.

The Peculiars by Maureen Doyle McQuerry

The Peculiars

Long fingers, long toes,
Part Goblin or birth defect?
Lena wants to know…

A Beautiful Wedding by Jamie McGuire

A Beautiful Wedding

Pigeon and Travis,
Finally together now,
Vegas Fiesta!

There you have my attempt at trying to turn book summaries into short little poems. Let me know what you think. Have you ever tried your hand at book haikus? Feel free to share your own poet skills!
