I thought it might be fun to try to summarize 6 books I’ve read and reviewed recently in the form of a haiku. Three lines, seventeen syllables, and six summaries which (hopefully) make sense. Enjoy 🙂
A girl sans family
Talks to fish, ghosts, Nan and
her unborn – The Minnow.
Altered DNA,
Ultimate warrior girl,
Failure means death…
The Dark World by Cara Lynn Schultz
Ghosts in the bathroom,
Demons in detention, Paige –
Key to the Dark World
Scarlett Fever by Maureen Johnson
Work, Love, Siblings, School.
Never a boring moment,
Life in NYC.
The Peculiars by Maureen Doyle McQuerry
Long fingers, long toes,
Part Goblin or birth defect?
Lena wants to know…
A Beautiful Wedding by Jamie McGuire
Pigeon and Travis,
Finally together now,
Vegas Fiesta!
There you have my attempt at trying to turn book summaries into short little poems. Let me know what you think. Have you ever tried your hand at book haikus? Feel free to share your own poet skills!
OMMGGG I LOVE THESE! You’re so creative! I’ve never tried to write book haikus but now I’m definitely interested. It looks like so much fun. 😀
This is such a fun idea! Love it!
Just beautiful Kate <3 The Minnow haiku is absolutely brilliant.
I'd love to see one at the end of every review 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing.
