Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme created and hosted by Tynga @ Tynga’s Reviews. It gives bloggers the chance to show their readers books they have bought, borrowed or received during the week.
Yesterday I went to Queen Street Mall to check out the launch event for Leigh Hutton’s Rev Girl – the first book in her Go Girls series. It was great to see so many people stopping as they were walking though the mall to check out what was going on. There were stunt shows by a real life Rev Girl as well as fashion shows. I bought a copy of Rev Girl and got it signed by Leigh! I’m sharing a Q&A with Leigh on the blog on Wednesday as well as my review for Rev Girl 😀 I also met another Brisbane author, Edwina Shaw, and she was lovely enough to give me a copy of one of her novels, Thrill Seekers.
Other books I received this week are The Dark World by Cara Lynn Shultz (thanks to Harlequin Teen Australia) and Wish You Were Italian by Kristen Rae (thanks to Bloomsbury). I’m a part of the First Loves blog tour so be sure to check out my post on Friday for when I get to share the question I got to ask Kristen as well as her response and an extract of Wish You Were Italian.

Also, this week I finally completed my cross stitch bookmark. I bought a kit from Big W for $5. I love owls and the B for Beginner meant it was good enough for me! It was surprisingly easy. I completed it in less than two hours and I have never cross stitched before. I have to admit I’m rather proud of myself…
What new books have you added to your personal libraries this week?
Sounds like a fun event! And I love your bookmark. Mum taught me to cross stitch years ago and I did enjoy it. I used to do it quite often but haven’t in years!
Oooh, I love cross-stitching! My uncle does whole landscapes and they look amazing. And your owls are fantastic 🙂
What a great idea for a launch event. I love seeing the motorbikes at the Royal Easter Show.
Your owl book mark is adorable, well done, you!
