Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Books For 2013

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of their bloggers over at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join.

This week’s topic is: Top Ten Books I’m Most Anticipating for 2013

There are so many books I can’t wait to read that are being released next year. I’ve preordered a lot and can’t wait to get mail box surprises!

This list will only be books that have titles and/or covers (so no Untitled third instalment to Veronica Roth’s Divergent series).

Paranormal/Dystopian series I can’t wait to continue

Natural Born Angel (Immortal City #2) by Scott Speer (sometime in April)

Requiem (Delirium #3) by Lauren Oliver (March 5th)

Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles #2) by Marissa Meyer (February 5th)

New Paranormal/Dystopian series

Etiquette & Espionage (Finishing School #1) by Gail Carriger (February 5th)

Dualed (Dualed #1) by Elsie Chapman (February 26th)

Nameless (Tales of Beauty & Madness #1) by Lili St. Crow (April 4th)

Contemporary

Nobody But Us by Kristin Halbrook (January 29th)

This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith (April 2nd)

Going Vintage by Lindsey Leavitt (March 25th)

Things I Can’t Forget (Hundred Oaks #3) by Miranda Kenneally (March 1st)

Those are my top ten most anticipated releases of 2013 for YA.

And just in case you’re interested – these are a few of the more adult releases I’m excited about…

Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson #7) by Patricia Briggs (March 5th)
Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood #11) by J.R. Ward (March 26)
Gameboard of the Gods (Age of X #1) by Richelle Mead

  1. ‘This is What Happy Looks Like’ sounds so good as does ‘Going Vintage’ (I enjoyed Lindsey Leavitt’s ‘Princess for Hire’ series)! 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by my TTT list!

    • I was a fan of Jennifer E Smith’s other book – the Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight.

And the description of This is What Happy Looks Like mentioned two of my favourite movies – You’ve got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle…

I haven’t read Lindsey Leavitt’s Princess for Hire series but I shall go check it out.

      Thanks for visiting 🙂

  2. So many great books to look forward to! Nobody But Us, Dualed, and Etiquette look awesome. And we have Gameboard, Happy and Requiem in common. Can’t wait!

  3. SO excited for Requiem and Dualed!! I think those are some of my top choices. Gameboard of the Gods looks SO interesting! I can’t wait for all of these amazing books for 2013!

  4. I’m SO EXCITED for most of these!! And I just love pre-ordering these pretties 🙂 I can’t believe I forgot to put Etiquette and Espionage on my list!

    • I love pre-ordering. It makes it a surprise when it finally arrives 😛

Etiquette and Espionage – I’m a Gail Carriger fan and hope this new series lives up to my expectations.

    • I have to admit… I do like reading books with pretty covers more than dull ones. Not to say I judge a book by it’s cover… although I probably do subconsciously.

  5. I’m also really excited for Requiem, I loved Delirium (I still have to read Pandemonium) (: Also, I hope to read Cinder soon and Nobody But Us looks great! Also, This is What Happy Looks Like seems like it’s going to be another great book. I loved The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight. Great choices! 🙂

    • I can’t wait for Scarlet either. I have bought many people I know copies of Cinder for Christmas so then I have people to get excited about the series with.
      Thanks for visiting 🙂

    • Thanks! And I’m extremely excited about the new Jennifer E Smith novel. The blurb describes it as “You’ve Got Mail” meets “Sleepless in Seattle” – both of which are books I adored. Thanks for stopping by.

  6. awesome Kate i love your list! what a great picks. thanks for stopping by my list earlier, we share some great books like requiem and scarlet.. and i so want to check out Dualed.. i haven’t read much contemporary but i definitely want to give some of those a shot!

  7. Yes to Requiem! And the first three of the contemps you picked. AND Richelle’s new book – I had no idea she had another book other than The Indigo Spell coming out 😀

    • Richelle Mead is like a machine. I’m pretty sure “The Fiery Heart” – Bloodlines 4 – is also out next year… The amount she writes is incredible.
